All Assam Secondary Graduate Teachers’ Forum (AASGTF)

The All Assam Secondary Graduate Teachers’ Forum (AASGTF) is a professional, non-political, and member-driven organization representing the interests of Secondary Graduate Teachers across Assam. The Forum is dedicated to safeguarding the professional, service, and welfare interests of its members while contributing to the advancement of quality secondary education in the state.

AASGTF serves as a common platform for Secondary Graduate Teachers to collectively address issues relating to service conditions, recruitment, career progression, promotions, pay structure, and educational reforms. The Forum actively engages with the Government of Assam, the School Education Department, and other stakeholders through constructive dialogue, evidence-based representations, and policy advocacy.

One of the Forum’s foremost priorities has been the resolution of the pay discrepancy affecting Secondary Graduate Teachers, particularly those appointed on or after 17 March 2017 and through subsequent recruitment processes. AASGTF has consistently pursued this issue by submitting detailed representations to the competent authorities, compiling district-wise data, and advocating for the fair and equitable implementation of government policies.

The Forum is also committed to the upgradation of the Pay Band of Secondary Graduate Teachers to ensure that their academic qualifications, professional responsibilities, and invaluable contributions to the education sector receive due recognition. It continues to advocate for a rational, equitable, and progressive pay structure based on the principles of fairness and equal pay for equal work, while striving to eliminate long-standing service anomalies.

Beyond service-related matters, AASGTF promotes the professional growth of teachers by organizing seminars, workshops, awareness programmes, training sessions, and collaborative initiatives. The Forum encourages unity, ethical leadership, continuous professional development, and innovation among teachers, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of secondary education in Assam.
